It was the night of the highly anticipated opening of Balthazar, the place to see and be seen. Unassuming waiters and waitresses glided through the glittering, mingling crowd, discreetly circulating hors d'oeuvres and flutes of champagne. The gorgeous, intimate interior of the trendy restaurant lounge sprawled open into a stunning patio over facing the North Sea. The sun was setting and the sky was washed in streaks of hot vibrant pink and soft pale lavender. Every witch and wizard was glowing with pleasure - the place was amazing.
Dressed in an inky purple backless dress that Spencer would have loved and hated to see her wear, Bredina Dunstan's clear blue eyes lit up when she saw her friend arrive.
Also without a date.
Or rather, not a date, but rather her rightful date. Both of their significant others were working late at the office. But men be damned, the girls weren't going to pass up this brilliant night.
"Knock on wood, because there's always one out there, but I think it might be safe to say that there's not a single creep here tonight!" she announced proudly, handing Parvati Patil a flute of champagne.

[December the 13th, 2009] |
It was the holiday season, and after so much uncertainty, so much wishing and hoping, Bredina Dunstan and Spencer Capper were exclusively dating.
A bashful smile played on the witch's cherry stained lips, and her blue eyes sparked fiery ice as snowflakes caught on her long eyelashes. Her boots crunched through the slushy London snow, and she adjusted the purse on her arm.
Approaching the bistro she was to meet Spencer at for dinner, he spotted his handsome face through the frosted glass and flattened out her giddy smile. Quickly running a hand through her tousled hair before stepping in, she checked in her coat.
"Do you need to check in your shopping?" the check in girl asked pleasantly. Dina glanced down at the small paper bag she was holding, and was breathless for a moment.
It was a black stainless steel chronograph watch she had bought for Spencer. For Christmas. ...Their first Christmas.
They hadn't actually agreed on exchanging presents, but at the time, she had thought to herself, I care about him and I don't want to play games.
Tightening her grip on the bag, she shook her head and smiled at the girl.
"I'll just keep it in my purse," she said quickly, unceremoniously shoving the package into her large suede bag.
Walking over to Spencer with a slight blush on her face, she bent down and kissed him on the cheek before sitting across from him.
"Merry Christmas."

Has anybody noticed that when they give those samples of Pumpkin Water on the street, it tastes wonderfully fresh and delightful, but when you buy the six pack for your home, it's like vile toad water?
So now I have 5.5 bottles of toad water. Any takers? I wonder if I could water my plants with these... Where's Neville when you need him, Merlin!
